Though the life-long Chicago native's recorded output may seem meager given the time-frame in which his three CDs were released ("Three Quarters Blind Eyes"/"Found a Little Baby" in 1994, "More You Becomes You" in 1998 and "Fed" in 2002), Hayes has never stopped writing, amassing a backlog of unheard material as impressive as his albums are critically acclaimed. Few artists in this century or, for that matter the last, have such a finely-tuned understanding of the craft that constitutes the art of the popular song. A Plush song is an emotional roller coaster, a pop primer and a personal missive from the heart of Liam Hayes, yet his songs are also universal, open to interpretation and well... downright catchy at times.
